UniQTyperTM Y-10 genotyping systems was developed at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. The UniQTyper Reference Database (URD) was designed to provide statistical support for forensic, population and genealogical studies and host profiles generated with the 11 Y-STR UniQTyperTM Y-10 multiplex (DYS710, DYS518, DYS385a, DYS385b, DYS644, DYS612, DYS626, DYS504, DYS481, DYS447 and DYS449). The database provides a search function to evaluate the frequency of profiles according to metapopulation, ethno-linguistic group, and country. The implemented haplotype frequency estimation methods are direct count, binomial one-tailed upper bound and kappa. Similar profiles with up to 2 mismatches can be identified from the database. Paternity index and probability of paternity can be estimated from 1-step mismatches. Population data can be evaluated for discrimination.
